“Creators of the Classic City” tells the stories about 170 enterprising people who play a part in creating the Classic City (Stratford Ontario). Most of the material taken to write the book was from the research done by Paul Wilker and Gord Conroy for the Streets of Stratford website which contains more than 500 stories about people and places linked to the streets. www.streetsofstratford.ca.
Rather than producing a hard cover book the stories were gathered in a flip book form which offers several features. It can be accessed online and read on a PC, an iPad or mobile phone. Audio and video clips are embedded in the pages to enhance the stories. Unlike an ebook it includes many pictures in colour, some of the old photos being enhanced by AI. This book is free to read.
Special thanks to Dean Robinson and Nancy Musselman for their invaluable help in editing and supplying some of the materials and pictures.
