Many of us have had a difficult year, with illness, loss, uncertain employment and isolation due to COVID-19. With that in mind, here’s to hoping for a much better 2021. As the glasses were raised in cheer to the New Year, it’s important to recognize the special symbolism that it brings. The New Year speaks to new beginnings and fresh starts, as well as a time of reflection of days gone by.
Our society is looking forward to reminding you of the days gone by in the up coming year. We’re happy to educate you about people, places and events that are part of our wonderfully enriched past. Although we may have restrictions, we are determined to bring to you some exciting projects throughout the up coming year. Please stay posted through our several media apps, which we will keep updated with our upcoming events and information.
We would like to thank all the board members, but a special thank-you goes out to our media board members, who have been working hard on research and managing our website, newsletter and Facebook page.
So raise a glass and New Year toast and Cheers to Andrew C. Brown – Website, Howard Shubert – Newsletter, and Nancy Musselman – Facebook. Without you we would be staring at a blank screen.
Happy New Year!
From the Stratford and District Historical Society,
“In the New Year, never forget to give thanks to your past years because they enabled you to reach today! Without the stairs of the past, you cannot arrive in the future “ – Mehmet Murat Ildan
