As the very real potential of the demolition of Stratford’s first General Hospital, named Avon Crest, is brought forward by the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance’s Tender T-435, The Save Avon Crest Committee has introduced a comprehensive position paper questioning the validity of such a demolition. Included in the paper is the question of the cost to the tax-payer, potential health and environmental concerns for the citizens of Stratford, and the loss of a building that could be repurposed to fit the growing needs of the City of Stratford.
